The Hon. Minister of Tourism has expressed deepest regrets
over the misbehaviour of several unruly persons during the
wedding dinner of Andre D. Stein and Simone Ribeiro at Rawa
Safaris Island Resort on Pulau Rawa. He conveyed heartfelt
apologies to the couple and their guests who sustained injuries
in and were traumatised by the recent incident.

YB Datuk Dr. Leo Michael Toyad said, "We are truly shocked to
hear that this has happened in a Malaysian tourist resort island."

He added that the matter is now a police case to be investigated
thoroughly and those found guilty of mischief will be brought to
justice.

The Hon. Minister assures all tourists that this unfortunate
incident is an isolated case and that Malaysia remains a safe
place for tourists. According to him, the incident goes against
the very grain of the ancient tradition of warmth and friendliness
in the country.
