PM-INTERNATIONAL WORLD CONGRESS 2007

The Minister of Tourism, YB Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, announced that Malaysia will host the PM-International World Congress 2007 in a special ceremony to unveil and launch the logo, date and venue of the event on 13 August 2006.

The event was graced by the PM-International founder and president, Senator Rolf Sorg, and the chairman of PM-International Scientific Advisory Board, Dr. Gerhad Schmitt. Also in attendance were Mr. C.K.Yung, the president and chief executive officer of PM Wellness (M) Sdn Bhd, PM-International's counterpart in Malaysia, and his wife, Mrs. Renesial Yung, who is also the executive director of the company.

Malaysia is set to host the PM-International World Congress 2007 from 13 to 20 September at the Genting International Convention Centre in Genting, the City of Entertainment, during Visit Malaysia Year 2007.

The Congress, to be held for the first time outside Europe in 12 years, expects to attract at least 3,000 delegates. Three years ago, Yung invited the top decision-makers of PM-International in Germany to Malaysia and since then he has been lobbying to hold their international convention in Malaysia.

Malaysia won the strongly contested bid to host this prestigious event from other MICE heavyweight contenders including the United States of America, Finland, Austria, the Baltic countries and Australia in Karlsruhe, Germany, on 8 April 2006.

PM-International is a global wellness company established in 1993 based in Germany. It offers a range of quality health and fitness supplements for sale via direct sale representatives in over 20 countries worldwide. In Germany, PM-International was named among the top five medium-size business with sales over Euro 200 million in 2004 by the German Government.

PM Wellness (M) Sdn Bhd has been appointed to distribute PM-International products to other Asian countries, thus making PM Wellness Malaysia the regional headquarters in Asia.

The PM-International convention and incentive trip is an all-expense paid trip and will feature Malaysia as a one-stop solution for business and leisure, using Genting as the main conference venue and Penang as a side trip for their delegates next year.

The hosting of this convention is in line with the government's effort to promote the country as a top-of-the-mind destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) in order to increase the country's tourism revenue.
