Besides Putrajaya, the Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia Dance Tourism Carnival will also be held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on 9 December 2012, and Kuching, Sarawak on 16 December 2012.
This year, a few new dance routines have been added, namely the 1Malaysia for Youth (1M4U), 1Malaysia and Visit Malaysia Year.
The Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia Dance Tourism Carnival is an innovative and creative tourism product that involves mass participation. Through this event, Malaysians have the opportunity to contribute towards building a positive image of the country in the eye of foreign tourists.
It provides a platform for all Malaysians to congregate in unity and showcase the country's rich and diverse dance form and cultural heritage to foreign tourists.
The original dance routine was a medley of Malaysia Truly Asia and Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia, as well as seven other dances from various races in the country including the Malay, Chinese, Indian, and ethnic groups from Sabah and Sarawak, as well as Orang Asli.
The Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia Dance, which is in line with the 1Malaysia concept, comprises simple dance moves that can be easily learned by everyone regardless of age, race and religion.
The dance instructors are from the Persatuan Tarian-tarian Rakyat Malaysia, as well as officers from the Ministry of Tourism and Tourism Malaysia.
