TOURISM MALAYSIA TAKES PART IN TASHKENT INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR


TASHKENT, 15 November 2023 – As part of its efforts to promote Malaysia to the Uzbekistan market, Tourism Malaysia is participating in the Tashkent International Tourism Fair "Tourism on the Silk Road" which is held from 15 to 17 November 2023 at UzExpoCentre, Tashkent.

Headed by Mr. Edzuar Zar Ayob Azari, Senior Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia’s International Promotion Division (America/Europe/Oceania), eight Malaysian companies are representing the tourism industry at the fair: Asia Premium Holidays, GM Travel House (M) Sdn. Bhd., Fun & Sun Holidays, Embassy Alliance Travel Sdn. Bhd., Camar Langkawi Resort, Ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Menara KL, and Batik Air.

Apart from business-to-business (B2B) meetings, and exhibitions of tourism services and handicrafts, an international forum will be held with the participation of leading experts in the field of tourism, as well as seminars discussing “The Role of Culture in the Development of the Country’s Tourism” and “Presentation of New Tourist Destinations”.

“The existing direct flights between Uzbekistan and Malaysia contribute a lot to the development of tourism between the countries. We are thrilled to share that Malaysia is preparing for its Visit Malaysia Year 2026 with a target to attract 26.1 million international travellers to our country,” said Mr. Edzuar Zar Ayob Azari.

As explained by the Director of Tourism Malaysia Almaty Office, Mr. Nor Shazly Azmi: “As an important market for Malaysia, the partnership of the Tashkent International Tourism Fair with Tourism Malaysia will allow both countries to strengthen its ties within the industry and further reveal the tourism opportunities through its attractions and traditions.”

Tourism Malaysia plans to attract 16.1 million international tourists with RM49.2 billion in tourism revenue by the end of 2023.
