TOURISM MALAYSIA OPENS OFFICE IN MELAKA AND KELANTAN

Tourism Malaysia opened two new offices in Melaka and Kelantan
on 15 January 2004, adding to the list of seven offices established
throughout the country in Johor, Penang, Terengganu, Sarawak,
Sabah, Kedah and Pahang.

As with all other Tourism Malaysia state offices, the Melaka and
Kelantan offices are responsible for disseminating tourismrelated
information pertaining to the state and the country; promoting
Malaysia as a tourist destination; organizing workshops / seminars
on tourism; organizing familiarization trips for agents, media and
frontliners in the industry; organizing promotional activities to
publicise statelevel
events and promoting the participation of
tourism operators via various marketing support activities.

The Melaka office is headed by Mr. Hishamuddin Mustafa while in
Kelantan, Mr. Abdul Rahman Aripin is the acting director.

Tourism Officers, with knowledge of Malaysia and tourismrelated
information, will be on hand to answer queries and assist tourists,
both foreign and locals, in planning their holidays in the country.
Maps and brochures of the various tourist attractions in Malaysia
are also available.
