MALAYSIA MEGA SALE CARNIVAL IS BACK!

The Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2005 from 23 July to 4 September signifies a six-week long of great bargains and discounts. You can shop for a wide range of goods and products ranging from sophisticated high-tech equipment and haute couture to cosmetics and unique knick-knacks.

The Official Launching Ceremony of the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2005 will be officiated on 23 July 2005 at 8pm by the Hon. Datuk Dr. Leo Michael Toyad, the Minister of Tourism, Malaysia at Ikano Power Centre and The Curve in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Shoppers can experience a carnival-like atmosphere at Ikano Power Centre and The Curve as various exciting activities, games and contests have been lined-up throughout the day starting from 11am.

Under the MasterCard Instant Redemptions & Giveaways promotion, MasterCard cardholders will receive instant rewards with purchases made during the day. They are also eligible for lucky draws and can participate in contests and games exclusively for MasterCard cardholders.

Shoppers can also participate in the games and contests organised at Ikano and Tesco. In addition, there will be scheduled fashion shows by tenants of The Curve from 12 noon to 7pm. The Buskers Carnival will be at Ikano and The Curve from 2pm to 8pm. At 6pm on 23 July, 5,000 balloons will be dropped from the top floor ceiling of Ikano where selected balloons contain shopping vouchers, gifts and prizes.

After the launching ceremony on 23 July, a Street Party will be held at the main stage of the launch site until midnight. Dancers and local artistes will perform to entertain all the visitors there. At the same time, customers will receive special bargains at the IKEA Late Night Sale.

Besides discounts and promotions, during the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2005, fashion shows will also be held at major shopping malls. From 6 to 13 August, the public can enjoy a day of entertainment, street party, art shows, and take part in contests and games at Bintang Walk and Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur.

The Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival is held annually to anchor Kuala Lumpur's position as a leading fashion hub in the world. Since its inception in 1999, the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival has been a significant contributor to the country's economy by drawing more tourists to visit the country every year.
