The Kedah International Red Tee Golf Invitation is being held for the second time at Gunung Raya Golf and Country Club in Langkawi, Kedah, on 29 October 2011. Her Royal Highness The Sultanah of Kedah, is the patron of the tournament.

A total of 70 female golfers from Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia are taking part in the tournament. Apart from Her Royal Highness (HRH) Sultanah Kedah, who is the reigning champion of the tournament, HH Tunku Putri Intan Shafinaz ibni  HRH Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah (the daughter of the Sultan of Kedah) and HH Tunku Jawahir binti Almarhum Tuanku Ja'afar (the daughter of the late Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan) will also be pitting their skills against each other.

The amateur-level tournament is organised by Tourism Malaysia together with the Langkawi Recreation Club in an effort to promote Langkawi as a leading tourism destination for golf and an ideal holiday spot for high-end tourists.

Specially invited VVIPs from Indonesia and the Philippines including wives of ambassadors, prominent business personalities and the high society are also expected to witness the tournament.

A gala dinner and prize-giving ceremony, hosted by the Honourable Minister of Tourism, Malaysia, YB Dato' Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen, will be held at Awana Porto Malai in Langkawi on the evening of the same day.

The tournament offers three-day/two-night packages at the City Bayview Hotel and the Tanjung Rhu Resort in Langkawi for participating golfers and their families. Special tours are also available for visitors to experience the many attractions on the island.

Apart from the tournament, the organisers have also arranged a friendly game of golf for some 27 male golfers at Gunung Raya Golf and Country Club.
