The Kelantan Tourism Information Centre (TIC) together with Kelantan
Kitefliers Association and Malaysian Kite Council are organising a KelantanAsian
Kite Festival 2006 in Pantai Seri Tujuh, Tumpat, Kelantan from 9 to 11
Jun.

The organisers hope that the kite festival can be promoted as a unique
tourism product among the local and foreign tourists visiting Kelantan.

First held in 1982 as an annual stateevent, the kite festival today
showcases kite fliers from all over the world as participants.

The Kelantan Kite Festival which was once listed as an anchor event in
the Visit Malaysia Year 1994 calendar of events highlights several main
categories. Among them are Wau Naik Tradisi Malaysia, Wau Puyuh Naik, Wau
Sobek /Cantik and Wau Barat Naik.

The threeday festival will see kitefliers from Malaysia, Singapore,
Thailand, Brunei and Indonesia showing off their skills against each other. The
winners will receive a trophy and certificate.
