THE PAVILION CRYSTAL FOUNTAIN -- THE TALLEST LIULI CRYSTAL FOUNTAIN

"Three coins in a fountain
Each one seeking happiness
Thrown by three hopeful lovers
Which one will the fountain bless..."

The famous classic song Three Coins in a Fountain conjures up an image of a love-struck couple throwing coins into the Trevi Fountain in Rome as they cast their wishes. The popular fountain ranks among the world's most beautiful with its elaborate sculpture design.

Some say that any self-respecting city should have a fountain to call its own - the more colourful and elaborate, the better!

Kuala Lumpur's latest fountain, located just outside Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, may not exude the same grandeur as the Trevi Fountain in Rome, but is no less eye-catching.

Launched in conjunction with the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival on 5 July 2009, the Pavilion Crystal Fountain stands 3.6 metres in height and 6 metres in width, and has been acknowledged by the Malaysia Book of Records as the tallest Liuli Crystal Fountain in the country. Its location in the heart of the tourist/shopping belt of the Golden Triangle has made it a popular attraction among both locals and tourists, and is quickly becoming a favourite place to capture photographs.

Conceptualized by Pavilion KL in collaboration with Liuligongfang, an expert in artistic glassware, this latest city landmark was designed with nationalistic ideologies in mind. The fountain features the Bloom of Hibiscus, the national flower of Malaysia, a symbol of opulence, passion and progression. The three bowls represent Malaysia's multiracial culture living harmoniously in unity and ascending to signify the growing aspirations of the people. The water converging from all directions represents endless blessings and prosperity. This crystal glass fountain bestows luminous wealth upon the city and the nation. The essence of this fountain is a reflection of the Malaysian Prime Minister's "1 Malaysia" vision.
