WCMSB 2011 is the largest marching band competition in the world and is recognized and sanctioned by the world body, World Association of Marching Show Bands (WAMSB).
Malaysia has been acknowledged as a world-class marching band competition organizer based on several factors:
• Has successfully organized the largest band competition in Asia since 2007 (Kuala Lumpur World Marching Band Competition)
• Adhering to international standards of fair adjudication
• Professional organizers
• Strong government support
• Has successfully nurtured and created a "Home Grown Brand" since 2007
Unique features of World Championship Marching Show Bands, Kuala Lumpur 2011:
• Competition open to the world's largest classes of participants (the youngest participants aged 4 years and the oldest 65 years.)
• 8 days of competition
• More than 3,000 international participants
• 20 international teams and 10 local teams will take part
• 12 countries
• Larger than the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics in terms of participation
• 120,000 spectators

CONCLUSION
All preparations are progressing smoothly and on schedule. We aim for WCMSB 2011 to attract 120,000 attendees at the Street Parade event in Jalan Bukit Bintang, "pocket shows", the three stages of preliminaries and the Grand Finale at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium.
