In conjunction with the World Recycling Day on 15 November 2014, the Frangipani Langkawi Resort & Spa is organising a “WASTE TO ART” Competition.

The competition has two categories, i.e. Asean/Malaysian Universities category (for adults/youths 18 years old and above) and Malaysian High School category (Malaysia high school students above the age of 13 years). Participants must register online and submit their artworks according to the stipulated terms and conditions, together with admission fees.

All final artworks and sculptures will be exhibited at the Frangipani Langkawi Resorts & Spa from 14 until 16 November 2014.

This competition was mooted by Mr. Anthony Wong, the Managing Director of The Frangipani Langkawi Resort & Spa, who is also an avid environmentalist and an advocate of ecotourism in Malaysia.

The purpose of the project is to create awareness about the amount of waste generated by humans, and to encourage the creation of beautiful artworks from garbage.
