ROYAL FLORIA PUTRAJAYA PROMISES A BIGGER CELEBRATION WITH SMART PARTNERS

Themed '10 Wonders of FLORIA', an amazingly wondrous experience is in store for visitors when Royal FLORIA Putrajaya opens its doors from 25 August 2 September 2018 at Anjung Floria Event Centre, Precinct 4, Putrajaya.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of FLORIA Royal Putrajaya, all the theme flowers that have graced FLORIA since 2007; namely Hibiscus, Orchid, Heliconia, Rose, Bougainvillea, Begonia, Lily and Chrysanthemum will be displayed amongst more than 400,000 flowering plants from various species and cultivars as well as ornamental plants akin to a colourful and amazing carpet of flowers in a landscaped garden setting.

The 10th edition of this Flower and Garden Festival organised by Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) and supported by Ministry of Federal Territories, Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture and Tourism Malaysia is managed by PPj’s subsidiary, PULSE Group and Putrajaya Floria Sdn Bhd (PFSB).

This year, the largest flower and garden festival in the region comprises new components that are expected to attract people of all ages from all walks of life.Among them are the Wonder Garden, Miniature Garden, Entrance Statement, Designer Boutique Gardens, Fertigation Garden, Hipster Square and the ever-popular Orchid Display that returns with approximately 300 orchid plants exhibited at the International Floral Pavilion.

A memorable nostalgic journey down memory lane through gardens specially designed to commemorate every FLORIA event since 2007 awaits fans of FLORIA via the Wonder Garden.Landscaped as beautiful gardens highlighted with the respective year’s theme flowers, the gardens culminate in a Meadow of multi-coloured flower beds interspersed with cute sculptures that add to the beauty of the 'wonderland'.

In line with the theme ’10 Wonders of FLORIA’, 10 International designers from China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Vietnam will be showcasing their floral designs at the International Floral Pavilion.

At the Soft Launch of Royal FLORIA Putrajaya, Minister of Federal Territories, Tuan Hj. Khalid Abd. Samad, said “With various awards and accolades in recognition of its last nine shows, Royal FLORIA Putrajaya has now become a catalyst in the landscape and flower industry of the nation.FLORIA's most recent recognition is a representation at the Council of Asia Flower Exhibitions or C.A.F.E. in Korea.

Hence, efforts taken to overcome existing challenges such as getting tax exemptions for cash sponsors and forging partnerships with corporate bodies and NGOs, including Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel as Official Hotel Partner, myCar as Official Transport Partner, Seat Advisor as Offical Ticketing Partner, Mercy Malaysia as the Official Charity Partner and Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd as the sponsor of Royal FLORIA Putrajaya International Cup is a collaborative opportunity that reduces the burden of providing government funding".

In conjunction with its 10th anniversary, FLORIA 2018 has increased the prize money offered for Garden Prime Award to RM15,000.00, Designer Boutique Garden to RM10,000.00 and RM5,000.00 for Garden of Malaysia with cash prizes also awarded to the Photography and Water Colour Competition.

As with each edition of FLORIA, other awards up for grabs include Royal FLORIA Putrajaya International Cup with a cash award of RM5,000.00, sponsored by Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd for participants at the Floral Pavilion. Cash awards are also up for grabs at the Bonsai, Suiseki and Wood Competitions.

Once again, FLORIA will enhance its professionalism and credibility by organising the Royal FLORIA International Dialogue (RFID) and act as a catalyst for the industry which includes professional participants in the fields of landscape, flora, horticulture and floriculture and other related fields.In addition to being a platform for exchange of ideas and exposure to best horticultural practices, dialogue participants are also able to gain knowledge from international horticulture and floriculture experts.

Royal FLORIA Putrajaya 2018 will open to the public from August 25th to September 2nd, from 9:00 am - 10:30 pm (Monday to Thursday) and from 9:00 am to 12:00 midnight (Friday to Sunday).

Visitors are encouraged to purchase FLORIA 2018 tickets online at a lower rate with a 20% discount compared to ticket purchases at the counter.

Royal FLORIA Putrajaya is a festival of flowers and gardens organised by PPj since 2007.Due to the overwhelming response from visitors, it had become an annual event since 2009.The festival showcases commercial products from the horticulture and landscape industry, show gardens, floral design and floristry demonstrations as well as flower shows from local and international participants, where all the attractions will be presented in a garden setting.
