PENANG WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL 2015

The Penang World Music Festival returned on the 11th & 12th of April 2015. This time at the iconic Esplanade in George Town, Penang. Visitors were treated to performances by international musicians from Spain, Germany, South Africa, India and more. Music lovers were able to listen to musical stories from the four corners of the world and marvelled at the fusion of historic and contemporary, right in our UNESCO Heritage City.

The PWMF2015 workshop sessions took place at the imposing Fort Cornwallis. Built a century ago to protect the beach front from invasion, it’s now a window into Malaysia’s storied past. And the perfect venue for an event that brings together people from around the world in a celebration of our common humanity.

Tourism Malaysia brought 17 foreign media and travel agents to George Town to attend the Penang World Music Festival today. They are here under its Mega Fam programme to help promote the country as a top-of-mind holiday destination. The Mega Fam participants, who come from five countries, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong, India and Thailand, also attended a welcome luncheon hosted by Tourism Malaysia at The Royal Bintang Penang.
