CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE (MRTM)

The Christmas spirit is made merrier with Malaysia's tropical weather and friendly people. Visitors will be spoilt for choice as there are many restaurants, bistros, shopping malls and hotels that offer great promotions planned specially for the occasion. Join in the celebration and have a sunny Christmas in Malaysia!

Malaysia’s famous Open House concept is really like no other anywhere in the world and speaks volumes for Malaysian hospitality. Open Houses are held during religious and cultural festivals like Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Christmas and Deepavali. The tradition of holding open house and visiting one another during festive occasions like Hari Raya Aidilfitri has been one of the most important unifying factors in Malaysia.

Experience the Christmas spirit in even the non-Christians as Malaysians from all walks of life spend the Christmas holidays visiting their friends with their families. At Christmas countdowns in selected locations, you can see people enjoying the festive cheer and wishing each other happy holidays and Merry Christmas.

Most Malaysians, celebrating or not, flock to the shopping malls – a typical Malaysian past time. There, they enjoy the activities and events organized by the malls and even do some shopping, taking advantage of the Christmas shopping. There is even carolling in some malls. At the workplace, colleagues may organize a secret Santa event to exchange gifts, where every member of the team shares the spirit of giving. Christmas is not exclusively for Christians here in Malaysia but it’s celebrated by all in their own unique way.
