TOURISM MALAYSIA ORGANISES CUTI-CUTI MALAYSIA TRAVEL FAIR 2019 IN CONJUNCTION WITH VISIT MALAYSIA 2020

PUTRAJAYA, 1 NOVEMBER 2019 –Tourism Malaysia Director General, Datuk Musa Haji Yusof today officiated ‘Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Travel Fair 2019’ at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. The travel fair is organised as part of Tourism Malaysia’s ongoing effort to stimulate growth in the domestic tourism industry as well as to increase awareness on local tourism products in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign.


The ‘Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Travel Fair 2019’ is a three-day event which will be held from 1 to 3 November 2019 at the IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. A total of 30 tour operators and product owners will take part in selling 100% domestic packages in this travel fair which is estimated to generate total sales of RM1,000,000.


“We would like to attract Malaysians especially the locals residing in Putrajaya and Klang Valley to take this opportunity to select the best domestic packages offered at very reasonable prices,” said Datuk Musa during the press conference for the programme.


The exhibitors who have been invited to participate in this programme consist of industry players such as travel agencies, tour operators and hoteliers - who will be selling attractive packages that include tours to various destinations in Malaysia. In order to encourage purchases during this programme, visitors who buy packages with a minimum value of RM500 will be entitled to redeem an exclusive merchandise from Tourism Malaysia.


In addition to the sale of domestic packages, visitors will also get the chance to meet and greet local celebrities such as Alif Satar, Zahirah Macwilson, Marsha Milan, Izzue Islam and Adeline Tsen who will be promoting the event. The travel fair is also replete with entertainment including the colourful cultural performances, fun colouring contest for kids as well as Beyblade competition that is open to all.


Datuk Musa urged all residents in Putrajaya and Klang Valley to grab this opportunity to plan their holidays in advance and enjoy what Malaysia has to offer. The programme is hoped to help increase domestic trips which will in turn stimulate the growth of the domestic tourism industry in line with Malaysia’s goal to become a premier tourist destination for both local and international travellers.
