NUR-SULTAN, KAZAKHSTAN, 22 SEPT 2019: Tourism Malaysia participated in the PATA Travel Mart 2019 (PTM 2019) from 18-21 September 2019 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, carrying the Visit Malaysia 2020 national campaign to participants from over 60 countries.

PATA Travel Mart (PTM) is Asia-Pacific’s worldwide travel trade exhibition featuring unparalleled networking and contracting opportunities to help travel and tourism organisations access decision makers, meet new clients, expand their networks, establish new relationships and consolidate existing business partnerships. It was attended by some 260 sellers and 222 buyers from all over the world.

This year’s PTM was hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh Tourism National, the key organisation in the tourism industry.

Datuk Musa Yusof, Director General, Tourism Malaysia says, “With the support of our industry partners, our goal was to bring exposure and create awareness on Malaysia to these markets, resulting in the increase of tourist flow from these regions to Malaysia. PATA Travel Mart was an excellent platform to promote the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign.”

This year, a total of 12 organisations from Malaysia participated in PTM including tourism promotion boards, hotels and resorts, travel agencies and product operators. Tourism Malaysia and Sabah Tourism Board participated together with hoteliers from Lexis Hibiscus, Sunway Lagoon Resort, The Face Suites and Camar Resort Langkawi.
