SUNWAY LAGOON THEME PARK

As one advertisement describes, Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is the ultimate playground for all children under the age of 99. And indeed, the massive 80acre theme park brings squeals of delight to the young and the young at heart alike!

The theme park is divided into three main areas Wild Wild West, World of Adventure,  and Waters of Africa, each with a concept of its own.

As its name suggests, Wild Wild West is reminiscent of those old cowboy towns featured in Hollywood westerns. There are the oldstyle saloons, elevated water tanks and the occasional Apache Indians roaming about with cowboys and saloon girls. The sweetmelodies of country and western songs played over the air are rivalled only by the terrifying screams coming from the thrill rides nearby.

One of the biggest draws of the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is Wild Wild West's Tomahawk, a ride that swings pendulumlike from left to right before making full 360 degree turns, making the world turn upside down and spin around for thrillseekers.

The queue  lines to this ride is especially long and if the screams from the passengers should make you change your mind about getting onto the ride, be forewarned, there are no chicken exits around this place!Other rides that the family can enjoy are the Grand Canyon River Rapids and the Buffalo Bill Coaster.

For more heartstopping moments, don't miss World of Adventure's Flying Carpet and the boatride of your lifetime in the Galleon - a ship that madly swings you up and down in the air for that rush of adrenaline.

For something a little tamer, take a walk down the world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge. The 428metre  bridge offers a bird's eye view of the beautiful park and its surrounding area. Take a rollercoaster ride through the Lost City of Gold Take a spin in the Grand Canyon River Rapids Though a train ride through The Lost City of Gold won't make your blood curdle, it promises barrels of fun for the whole family.

The latest addition to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is the allnew  Waters of Africa. You know you're there when you start hearing African tribal chants in the air and see kids running around in wet swimsuits.

The only way to have fun around here is to get yourself soaking wet. And there are plenty of opportunities for that in Malaysia's only Africanthemed water park. Challenge your friends to a headfirst race down the water slides of Congo Chal lenge. Or spin around in the looping African Python tunnels before being propelled out into the splash pool. Kids will love the Zambezi River whose gentle currents will take you on a lazy ride around Mali Cove, Lake Kariba and Little Zimbabwe water adventure pools.

Surfers should head out to Jeffrey's Bay where the waves go up to a raging height of up to eight feet. In this world's largest manmade surf Bird's eye view of Waters of Africa Surfing at Jeffrey's Bay wave pool, you can show off your surfing stunts against a backdrop of a stunning erupting volcano.

Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is the ideal holiday experience for families and friends. Take a day off to give your kid a funfilled day in the park and to reacquaint with the child within you!Log on to http://www.sunway.com.my/lagoon  for details.
