The Ministry of Tourism and Tourism Malaysia, along with the Malaysia Airports Berhad and the Immigration Department are pleased to announce the operation of two designated immigration lanes for travelling families starting from 30 June 2005.

The Special Immigration Lane for Families (SILF), namely Lanes 27 and 28, are created for the comfort and convenience of travelling families. There will be benches for family members to rest while their travelling documents are being processed.

Although the special lanes are only in operation for three months during the West Asian holiday season, it is hope that it will be a permanent feature if positive responses and feedbacks are received from users.

Incidentally, the launching of the special immigration lanes on 30 June will coincide with the arrival of flight MH7091, the inaugural Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight from Kuwait. Hence, passengers from this flight will be the first to use these lanes.
