PUTRAJAYA, 11 DEC 2018: Tourism Malaysia extends its heartfelt condolences and deep sorrow to the bereaved family of Lim Ba Bin, the advisor to the Malaysia Inbound Tourism Association (MITA), and founder member of the Kuala Lumpur Tourist Guides Association (KLTGA).

Lim Ba Bin, founder of Babin Tours Agency was a pioneer in many areas of inbound tourism in Malaysia. In the mid-80s, he had contributed a lot in bringing international tourists to Malaysia especially from the European market.

“Lim was really an icon in the tourism industry and his talent and knowledge played an instrumental part in shaping the inbound tourism in this country and we will always be thankful for that. Lim’s passing is a great loss for all of us,” said Datuk Musa Yusof, the Director General of Tourism Malaysia.

According to Datuk Musa, Lim’s passion saw him working hard to ensure the success of the country’s tourism industry even when he was in his 70s.

“This soft spoken man was well-loved by many. He was indeed a remarkable individual on every level, a legend." he added.

An industry stalwart, the 79-year-old Lim was always around when industry feedback and advice were needed and he provided leadership for their concerns.
