MALAYSIA FOOD & CULTURE PROMOTION AT JW MARRIOTT SAHAR, MUMBAI
MUMBAI, 27 January 2025 – Tourism Malaysia is proud to announce a vibrant Malaysia Food & Culture Promotion in collaboration with the Marriott Group, taking place at JW Marriott Sahar, Mumbai, from 27 January to 1 February 2025. This event coincides with Tourism Malaysia's participation in the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) Mumbai, one of India’s leading travel trade exhibitions.
The promotion will feature a feast of authentic Malaysian cuisine crafted by renowned chefs flown in from Malaysia, offering guests a taste of Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Briged Seni Melaka will captivate audiences with their mesmerising dance performances, showcasing the diversity of Malaysian cultural heritage.
This collaboration with the Marriott Group highlights Malaysia's commitment to engaging with the Indian market by leveraging the universal appeal of food and culture. It also aligns with Tourism Malaysia’s broader efforts to position the country as a must-visit destination for Indian travellers.
A Growing Bond: Malaysia Welcomes Indian Tourists
Tourism Malaysia is targeting over 1.4 million Indian tourist arrivals by 2025, following the Malaysian government’s recent announcement of visa-free entry for Indian nationals. India continues to be one of Malaysia's top five tourist source markets, after Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and China.
Speaking about the initiative, Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Director General of Tourism Malaysia said, “Food and culture are powerful ambassadors for our nation. Through this event, we aim to create lasting impressions among the Indian audience and strengthen Malaysia’s appeal as a preferred travel destination. Our goal is to inspire more Indian tourists to experience Malaysia’s unique charm.”
The Malaysia Food & Culture Promotion promises to delight and entertain guests while reinforcing cultural connections between Malaysia and India. Tourism Malaysia invites everyone to join in this celebration of flavours and heritage at JW Marriott Sahar, Mumbai.
