A seminar for selected tour operators will be held for Malaysian sellers to present their products and services on the second day of the event. To entice visitors at the expo, cultural performances featuring Malaysia’s colourful and diverse ethnicities are also scheduled daily throughout the event.
This promotional effort is expected to increase the number of Philippine tourists to Malaysia significantly, through promoting greater awareness of Malaysia as an ideal holiday destination, as well as fostering greater cooperation between Malaysian tour operators and the Philippines tourism industry.
Philippines is one of the top ten markets for Malaysia, with a total of 421,908 tourists recorded in 2019 which is a 6.6% growth compared to the same period in 2018. Malaysia hopes to welcome 510,650 tourists from Philippines as part of the 30 million arrivals targeted for VM2020.
