KL GP CITY CELEBRATES 8 ON TEN!
This March, the city of Kuala Lumpur will be celebrating 10 exciting years of Formula 1 motor racing by showcasing eight fantastic events.
This month-long celebration will show case a variety of spellbinding and explosive music festivals, spectacular fashion shows, exciting bargains from shopping at the KLGP Sale, plus sensational live-entertainment as the Festival culminates with F1 parties towards the race week end. In brief, there will be endless excitement and fun for everyone.
1. KLGP CITY SALE 2008
The excitement kick starts with the KL GP CITY SALE where shopping aficionados can enjoy huge discounts and bargains at major shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur City.

2. KL VINTAGE & CLASSIC CARS CONCOURSE
On 16 March, come and witness a stable of vintage and classic cars from the past decades that will be displayed at the Dataran Merdeka (Independence Square) from 8.00am until noon. Free admission to all.

3. KLGP CITY FESTIVAL
The city of Kuala Lumpur celebrates with an evening of multi-cultural extravaganza of colour and music.

4. ING -KLGP CITY BINTANG WALK FESTIVAL

5. SPEEDZONE TOUR 2008
Fun begins at the top of the world. Five hundred tickets are for grabs for this official Grand Prix Party which will hosted at the KL Tower.

Two members of The Supremes (above), Scherrie Payne and Lynda Laurence will help launch the Stylo KL Fashion Festival
A week-long fashion extravaganza showcasing international and local creations and officially launched by members of the Supremes.
Featuring The Dreamgirls - Payne, Laurence and Freddi Poole (a fabulous soul singer) who will render nostalgic Motown favourites at the Stylo KL Fashion Festival launch party.
The Fashion Festival will be held from 15 March 2008 at The Pavilion in the week leading to Formula One. Laurence and Payne will be dressed by British India, made up by Giorgio Armani Beauty and coiffed by L'Oreal Professionnel.
It is an evening that will feature a unique Malaysian designers' fashion presentation and international labels to interpret their versions of The Dreamgirls to the accompaniment of amazing Motown classics.

8. SUNBURST KL INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL 2008
The Festival showcases a diverse range of music from the sounds of rock, jazz, R&B and hip-hop featuring live performances by some of the world's biggest names in music such as: INCUBUS , JOHN LEGEND , THE ROOTS , INCOGNITO , GEORGE CLINTON + PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC and RAUL MIDON who will be sharing the stage with GIGI , TOMPI , and many more local and regional acts.
Sunburst KL will be a musical explosion that should not be missed. The inaugural event will be a one day festival with 26 live performances spread out over 4 different stages , cramped into a 12-hour (2pm-2am) programme of continuous music, all for just RM200 per ticket (1 ticket price only).
The Festival will be held on 15th March at the Polo Pavilion, Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Doors will open from 2:00pm (first show will start 2.45pm onwards).

OFFICIAL LAUNCH
The KL Grand Prix City Festival 2008 was jointly launched by Datuk Dr. Victor Wee, (Secretary-General, Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia); Dato' AB Hakim Borhan (Mayor of Kuala Lumpur) and Dato' Mokhzani Tun Dr. Mahathir (Chairman, Sepang International Circuit Sdn Bhd) on 21st February at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
This Festival will be a Lifestyle festival beyond motor sports. It is all about fiesta, fashion and music. Visitors to KL City during the month of March can expect midnight shopping and great discounts at major shopping malls. SEPANG INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT (SIC)
Sepang International Circuit (SIC) will again play host to Round 2 of the FIA Formula One Grand Prix World Championship in 2008 from 21 to 23 March.
The award-winning circuit had its humble beginnings with Petronas' involvement in Sauber F1 way back in 1996 as the then Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad recognised the potential of F1 and how it can be used to promote Malaysia. A handshake, a signature and a circuit later, Malaysia joined the big leagues of motor sports.
Later in 1999, as Malaysia and the region were recovering from the economic recession, the ultimate race in the motor racing was finally making its debut in Malaysia. SIC was ready to welcome all the F1 drivers and the world's fastest cars to Malaysia.
Not only did SIC excel in organising the event, SIC was also rated as the best circuit in the world at the FIA Annual Dinner in 1999.
Today, 10 years on, SIC is still THE circuit to which others are compared to.
