HUNAN BROADCASTING SYSTEM SIGNS MOU WITH TOURISM MALAYSIA FOR DOCUMENTARY PRODUCTION “STARRY EMBRACE”

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 April 2024 – The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, stands to witness today the signing ceremony between Hunan Broadcasting System and Tourism Malaysia for the collaboration to produce Starry Embrace, a five-episode programme chronicling hundreds of years of history between China and Malaysia to the present and extending into the future.

This will draw from well-known tales and prosperous situations in a range of industries, illustrating the strong bonds and mutually beneficial collaboration between the citizens of the two nations in the areas of politics, economics, culture, technology, and others.

The documentary will be aired as one of the main programmes under the China Network Television channel through CCTV-9 and CCTV-4, Hunan TV, Golden Eagle Documentary Satelite TV, Mango TV, and Astro TV, Malaysia.

Mango Media Sdn. Bhd. will carry out the tactical promotion campaign to promote the documentary program on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Little Red Book. This collaboration will leverage respective celebrations of 50 Years of China-Malaysia Diplomatic Relations and encourage tourists from China to choose Malaysia as one of their holiday destinations in 2024.

In 2023, Malaysia welcomed 1.47 million arrivals from China, an exponential growth of 593.4% in comparison to the same period in 2022, with 212,603 arrivals.
