HARVEY WORLD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN KUALA LUMPUR
About 650 delegates from the international travel industry attended the 23rd Harvey World International Conference held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 3 to 5 February.
Harvey World Travel, the largest retail travel agency franchise in the Southern Hemisphere, has over 500 offices throughout Australia, New Zealand, the United States of America, South Africa, Europe and the United Kingdom.
The 3-day conference consisted of exhibitions, workshops, business presentations and networking sessions. The event was supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Tourism Malaysia.
The Minister of Tourism, YB Datuk Dr. Leo Michael Toyad, addressed the delegates at the opening ceremony on 3 February. The Ministry, together with Tourism Malaysia, also hosted a cultural-themed welcome dinner for the delegates that same evening at Seri Melayu Restaurant. Guests were entertained with Malaysian traditional music and cultural activities such as henna tattooing, batik painting and fortune telling.
The Harvey World Travel International Conference is one of many events that the Ministry has successfully brought to Malaysia in efforts to promote Malaysia as a MICE destination.
