EMIRATES AIRLINES REGIONAL DIRECTORS FETED

Kuala Lumpur, Wed, 22 Sept:- About 46 regional directors from Emirates Airlines who were in Kuala Lumpur for the “Emirates-Regional Directors’ Meeting” (23 Sept) were feted in style at the Mega View Banquet Deck, Kuala Lumpur Tower. The dinner hosted by Tourism Malaysia was in appreciation to the airline for the cordial relationship and their long-term contribution towards the initiative in promoting Malaysia. Tourism Malaysia’s Deputy Director General (Marketing), Dato’ Amirrudin Abu presented a memento to Mr. Sheikh Majid Al-Mualla, Emirates Airlines` Senior Vice President–Commercial Operations, (WA & IO) as a token of appreciation.

Guests at the dinner were also treated to a taste of Malaysian hospitality through the songs, traditional dances, delectable Malaysian cuisines and a promotional video on Malaysia. Also present at the event were Emirates Airlines` senior managers, country managers and sales managers (from Dubai, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Seychelles and Mauritius); divisional directors from Tourism Malaysia and the media.

BACKGROUND

- Emirates Airlines is a fast-growing international airline with one of the youngest fleets in the sky and more than 400 awards for excellence worldwide, Emirates is one of two key corporations in the Emirates Group. The other is DNATA, one of the largest travel organizations in the Middle East with over 8,000 employees handling passenger, cargo, ramp and technical services for numerous airlines at Dubai International Airport.

- Emirates Airlines operates daily flights from Dubai to Kuala Lumpur.

- Malaysia was chosen as one of the world’s top ten countries for 2010 by Lonely Planet – in “Best in Travel 2010”. Also one of the “Best Value Destinations for 2010”.

- 2nd place for Best International Tourism Destination (2009) – by Global Traveler magazine, in US, in their annual Global Traveler Tested Awards.

-Malaysia –Top Destination for U.A. E. Residents by Asfaar magazine, Dubai.
