AirAsia X flies to New Delhi
AirAsia X made its maiden flight to New Delhi, India on 4 August 2010 marking the completion of AirAsia’s route network in India from Kuala Lumpur.
AirAsia X’s new service from Kuala Lumpur to New Delhi will help increase tourist traffic for both countries. To date, India is among Malaysia’s top-ten tourist generating markets with 589,838 arrivals in 2009 against RM1, 601.8 million (USD 480 million) in tourist receipts for the same year.
Currently, New Delhi is AirAsia X’s ninth destination city in India after Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Trivandrum, Kochi and Tiruchirapalli. With the addition of New Delhi as their latest route, AirAsia will now have a total of 120 flights weekly to the various points in India.
