1-300-88-5050 NEW TOURISM INFOLINE

A new Tourism Infoline has been put into service with immediate effect from 7 June 2006 to provide better assistance and information to tourists.

The number, 1 300 88 5050 which was launched by the honourable Minister of Tourism, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur today replaces the old number, 1 300 88 5776, which will remain in service until 31 December 2006.

This new telephone number connects the caller to the nearest call centres at Tourism Malaysia offices or at Tourism Information Centres located nationwide.

The Tourism Malaysia State offices are located in; Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak, while the Tourism Information Centres are located at:

• Tanjung Puteri (Johor)
• Langkawi International Airport;

The new Infoline number is part of the national efforts to prepare for Visit Malaysia Year 2007. Compared to the old Infoline, this new number is much easier to recall and dial as the number `5050` represents the nation's 50th Year of Independence. Hence, the VMY 2007 tagline of "Celebrating 50 Years of Nationhood".
