This year, working together with the Ecotourism & Conservation Society Malaysia (ECOMY),Tourism Malaysia is focused on promoting Malaysia as the preferred birding destination.

Malaysia is home to one of the oldest rainforest habitat in the world, with thousands of species of flora and fauna dwelling within. This natural heritage is much cherished, with a lot of effort having been put in to preserve our rainforests from human intervention and environmental change. Tourism Malaysia has helped many entrepreneurs capitalize on our natural beauties - the forests, parks and gardens both private and public.

A new birding website (birdmalaysia.my) was recently launched to provide updated information and serve as a networking platform for bird lovers and enthusiasts in Malaysia.
