CREATIVE CAMPAIGN AIMS TO BOOST TOURISM AND RETAIL THROUGH MALAYSIA’S STORIES
KUALA LUMPUR, 20 MAY 2025 – The Malaysian Microfilm and Film Association (MMFA) is inviting local and international partners to take part in a nationwide cultural initiative that aims to showcase Malaysia’s stories through creative and community-driven platforms.
“I Love Malaysia” is a national campaign that blends short-form storytelling, digital experiences, and public engagement to highlight Malaysia’s diversity, heritage, and charm. The campaign is aligned with Tourism Malaysia’s broader effort to enhance cultural tourism appeal ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026, with a strong emphasis on cultural discovery and regional revitalisation.
In addition to supporting destination visibility, the initiative is also expected to generate positive momentum for Malaysia’s retail and service sectors. By embedding creative storytelling directly into local shopping, dining, and travel environments, the campaign hopes to drive new footfall, create deeper cultural experiences, and extend the economic benefits of tourism into participating communities.
MMFA is currently selecting teams from around the world involving planning, content, technology, and public activation to shape the execution of this national effort. From campaign direction to engagement strategy, the association is working with diverse partners to create new ways for Malaysians — and the world — to rediscover the stories that define the nation.
“This campaign is not just about filmmaking,” said a spokesperson from MMFA. “It’s about connecting people and places in a way that inspires pride, curiosity, and meaningful participation — both from within Malaysia and abroad.”
