He is originally from Negeri Sembilan and learned cooking from his grandmother, a consummate foodie and cook. He discovered his passion for the culinary arts at an early age and eventually specialised in traditional recipes. Chef Ismail joined MATRADE on its tour of the USA, the Middle East and Europe promoting Malaysian food and products. Under Tourism Malaysia, Chef Ismail brought Malaysia cuisine to Japan, South Africa, Cambodia and the UK through cooking demonstrations. Today, he co-owns and runs Restoran Rebung that specializes in authentic Malay cuisine.

A staunch conservationist with unrelenting views on the importance of protecting and conserving the region’s unique marine attractions, Lee has profoundly influenced the development and growth of dive tourism. After becoming a certified PADI dive instructor in 1983, he pioneered the first dive school in Tanjung Aru, Sabah. The outfit, Borneo Divers went on to build Sipadan Island Dive Lodge on its namesake island. Borneo Divers was the first to bring internation divers to Sipadan Island in 1984 and is instrumental in its development into one of the top dive spots in the world. He is also the founder of the first Child Academy in Sabah which produced our nation’s first female dive instructor and many other innovative projects.

Nargiz Safarova was born in Baku city, the capital of the Azerbaijan Republic. Fondness of travelling imparted in her childhood by parents was fulfilled further with bright creativity onstage and tour activity which was connected with professional dancing art of national Azerbaijan dances.

At the moment Nargiz is an expert, professional of high level in the field of tourism, specialist in the ASEAN countries with more than 25 year experience.

She is a skilled expert in the domain of cross-cultural communications, the owner of various awards for achievements in the field of tourism. She is a speaker and author of many articles on tourism and cultural topics about the ASEAN countries. She is one of the first experts who has offered her product and unique tour programs for Malaysia and the countries of Asia for the market of Russia and in the CIS countries.

She has been not only a participant of various professional actions but also their organizer for many years. Exhibitions, forums, workshops, presentations worldwide are the result of her enormous best practices in this field, marketing, tourism and its advance. Since 2008 she has actively been advancing the MM2H program, and since 2010 she has been a participant of this program together with her family.

Her career in the field of tourism began in Russia, in Moscow in 1992 where she stood at the origins of Russia tourist branch formation, after the USSR collapse.

The permanent head and top manager of the specializing company in the countries of Asia, i.e. “ING Asia Travel”. This company was one of the first in Russia and the CIS countries which acquainted tourists and opened routes in the direction of Malaysia and the countries of ASEAN.

She is a long-standing partner in advance of Malaysia in Russia and the CIS countries in the field of a luxury segment, and representative business.

Wide connections and activity in a cultural and tour branch, professional partnership and Nargiz’s cooperation with Malaysia Tourism, fine knowledge of Asia, Russia and the CIS countries lead to a deserved designation to a post of ambassador on tourism for Malaysia and we hope that this choice will bring even more success in attracting guests to our country in the future.Designation
